Sound Control

We provide solutions for controlling sound in both existing and new construction. Our recent projects include: churches, industrial buildings, offices and a music studio. The publications below provide a general introduction to controlling sound as well as technical documents showing how to construct a sound-deadening wall/floor system.

NAIMASoundControlPamphlet North American Insulation Manufacturer’s Association produced a 10 page pamphlet introducing the homeowner to sound control. Includes information on STCs (Sound Transmission Classes) and ways to improve the sound control in one’s house.
oharesoundcontrolreport In the year 2000, the city of Chicago responded to complaints from residents about the airport traffic noise coming from O’Hare Airport. The city produced a 36-page manual so homeowners could protect themselves from the airport traffic noise.
soundcontrol A 24 page document by the North American Insulation Manufacturer Association specifically designed for builders. It illustrates how to build wall assemblies to achieve desired STCs (sound transmission classes).
