How We Install Fiberglass Batts

We pay close attention to detail when we install fiberglass batts. We have over 20 years of experience with fiberglass. The owners are present and working on every project. The diagram below illustrates the points of detail we inspect and demand:

To eliminate gaps, we use 94″ material that allows us to tuck both the bottom and top ends (A). The material (including vapor barrier) is tucked behind pipes and drains (B). This allows the interior warmth to keep pipes from freezing. As a part of our basic package, we use a polyurethane foam to fill small spaces between studs (C), windows and doors. The fiberglass and vapor barrier is tucked behind electrical outlets preventing air leaks. Since the fiberglass is compressed in this area, r-values are compromised. We surround the outlets with polyurethane foam (D) to bring the r-values back up and seal the plugs and wires from air leaks. Upon request, we will provide additional foam to the sill plates, corners, and other minor cracks (E).
